Abstract

Automated moderation systems play a crucial role in online platforms by ensuring content adheres to community guidelines and regulations. However, the increasing reliance on these systems has raised concerns about their transparency and their effect on user trust. This study evaluates the transparency of automated moderation algorithms and their impact on user trust in content moderation. The research involves a combination of literature review, statistical analysis, and simulation experiments to gauge the perceived transparency of algorithms and their relationship with user trust. The findings indicate that greater transparency in algorithmic decision-making enhances user trust and increases the effectiveness of moderation systems. The study provides insights into the design and implementation of more transparent and user-trustworthy automated moderation systems.
