The rise of artificial intelligence (AI) in automated content moderation has revolutionized how online platforms manage user-generated content. While these systems can filter harmful content quickly and efficiently, they often face significant challenges related to ethical concerns. Ethical AI, when applied to automated content moderation, must navigate issues such as bias, transparency, accountability, and fairness. This paper investigates the core challenges in implementing ethical AI in content moderation systems, the implications of these challenges for social media platforms and their users, and potential solutions to mitigate negative consequences. By evaluating the state-of-the-art practices and emerging trends in the field, the paper highlights key areas where ethical AI can be better incorporated into content moderation tools.
