Abstract

Content moderation has become one of the most crucial elements in managing online platforms, especially on social media. With the increasing demand for safe, inclusive, and diverse spaces, innovative approaches are necessary to address the complexities of moderating content. Augmented Reality (AR) filters, typically used for entertainment, have the potential to enhance the user experience while also contributing to content moderation efforts. This paper explores the role of AR filters in moderating content on social media, assessing their impact on both users and platform integrity. Through statistical analysis and reviewing current practices, we suggest that AR filters can effectively augment the moderation process, but must be implemented with caution to avoid bias and misuse.
